The transport of Dangerous Goods as air freight is subject to specific rules and control. It begins with proper procedures of certain individual substances in correct packaging up to the preparation of the Shipper’s Declaration and the provision of emergency contact numbers as requestet by the IATA.

Dangerous Goods Regulations are updated yearly from the IATA which regulates all aspects and describes how each and every substance and in what quantities are allowed to be packed and shipped. Individual countries and airlines issue a suitable set of rules which are to be rigidly followed.

The correct handling of Dangerous Goods requires not only expert knowledge of these rules but also instruction and training for the staff category, as it is described in the IATA DGR Table 1.5.A..
